[gps-talkusers] Re: multiple repeat of intersection

Thanks Carl and Don. Of course, I'm still relatively new to this, so I'll
keep working at it. Maybe there is something I just haven't gotten down
quite right yet. But, in most every case, I can still tell about where I am
with just using the x command, even if it doesn't usually repeat for me, so
the GPS is still quite useful.

Vicky,
One thing that comes to mind, is the repeat intersection command will only
be active as long as we have satellites detected. On public transportation
you maybe losing the satellites. I have tested this on the PK, classic BN
and the mPower running version 3.3. For good safety reasons that any repeat
command the depends on a GPS position will not be functional until
satellites are detected.
I maybe overlooking something. If you continue to have problems please
contact me.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] multiple repeat of intersection

Hi All,

When using my GPS on our city bus here and I hit the letter m for the
multiple repeat function, I do get asked what I want to have repeated every
twelve seconds. So, I then press the letter x for intersections. I'm then
told what intersection I'm currently near, but I don't get the multiple
repeat announcement; or, if I do, I only get it one other time and that is
it. Now, if I do the m and then the letter a for the address, I do often
seem to get that repeated a few more times. And, come to think of it, the m
with the letter x doesn't seem to do all that well for me when just walking
to and from the bus stop, either, maybe announces two or three times then
stops. And, in most cases when I've checked the
number of satellites, it has been at least four.

Any idea of what I might be doing wrong? Or, especially on the bus, is it
maybe kind of hard for the multiple repeat intersection to work?

Oh, by the way, thanks to help from Dean Jackson, my flash disk on the PK is
happily restored back now. But, I was still ever so pleased that, while on
my vacation and not having access to my computer, installing the GPS let me
somehow gain access to my email and planner and the like by creating that
flash disk on the system disk. But, of course that is all gone now and I
have reinstalled the GPS once I got my flash disk drive back on the PK.
