I have both the Magellan and earthmate and for ease of use the Earthmate
beats the magellan hands down.
Actually I also have the sportrak which I have not been real happy with but
my little ol magellan 310 was used for close to a year and a half and will
still work if I put batteries in it and take it out.
As for accuracy, the earthmate is much more so and it has the advantage of
having waas on it so that gives you a much more precise fix than the
magellan. Also in canion effects the earthmate does much better. Just about
every day, I walk through an open air mall which is like walking through a
tunnel and the magellan used to loose the signal but that little earthmate
just keeps onclicking and once in a while, I'll check and it will say "poor,
1 satellite."
So these are my findings.
Hope this is of some value to you.
