Here's what I could find on all three receivers. One advantage to the Holux
is that it has a slide switch to turn it on and off, which is a lot easier
than pushing a button and guessing when the receiver comes on. I don't know
if the other receivers have that feature or not.
The Holux also has built in WAAS, whereas you might find it difficult to
activate in either of the other two receivers you mentioned. I'm not sure
how important that is in reality, nor do I know if, once you activate WAAS
in the other two receivers if it stays on, which would mean you wouldn't
have to mess with it again.
By the way, there is already a Globalsat BT-339 which advertises faster
acquisition time but has shorter battery life.
The RoyalTek RBT-2110 is the improved version of RBT-2010. This new version
has been improved with the latest second-generation SiRF star III chipset
(GSC3f).
The GSC3f delivers exceptional sensitivity and extremely fast time to first
fix (TTFF). Besides, the RBT-2110 has a autonomy of up to 17 continuous
hours
with a new 1700mAh Li-Ion Battery.
The RBT 2110 is compatible with Bluetooth devices with SPP (Serial Port
Profile) like PDA, Smart phone, Tablet PC and Notebook. It satisfies a wide
variety
of applications that are purposes in automotive and outdoor recreation
navigation systems.

Holux Bluetooth GPS receiver
One of the strengths of Sendero's GPS is its ability to use the latest
state-of-the-art commercial GPS receiver. This allows users to have the
highest performance
and accuracy rather than being tethered to a built-in receiver.
Holux GPSlim236 Bluetooth
New! Sendero introduces the smallest and most sensitive Bluetooth GPS
receiver on the market and the only Sirf Star 3 receiver with a physical
on/off switch.
Meet Sendero's Holux GPSlim 236 Bluetooth GPS receiver.
Distinguishing Features of the new Sendero's Holux GPSlim 236:
. Small Size: 2.7 inches long, 1.9 inches wide and 0.8 inches thick
. Highest Sensitivity: Sendero's Holux uses the new SiRF Star III low power
Architecture, which picks up satellite signals from inside a purse, vehicle
and even inside some buildings. Sendero's custom Holux is the only receiver
with the extra WAAS satellites enabled by default, giving it the highest
degree
of sensitivity on the market.
. Accessible Power switch: Most GPS receivers have a power button, making it
somewhat tricky for a blind user to know the on/off status. Sendero's Holux
has a tactile slide switch so it is easy to feel that up is On and down is
Off.
. Custom Case: Sendero has created a leather and neoprene case to protect
and conveniently house the little receiver. Besides the appropriate openings
for
ports and the switch, the case has a clip and Velcro wings on the back for
fastening the receiver to a shoulder strap.
. Accessible documentation: provided with all Sendero products including a
Getting Started document for the Holux and a text version of the Holux
manual.
. Built in SiRF Star III Low power consumption chipset.
. 20 parallel satellite-tracking channels for fast acquisition and
reacquisition.
. High speed signal acquisition using 200,000 time/frequency search
channels.
. Built-in WAAS/EGNOS Demodulator without additional hardware. Or use the
high-sensitivity software to get the fast acquisition and reacquisition in
the
urban, canyon and foliage environments.
. Compatible with Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP)
. Low power consumption. Built-in rechargeable and changeable Lithium-ion
battery without external power supply, and the working time lasts at least
10
hours.
. Built-in rechargeable battery for memory and RTC backup and for fast Time
To First Fix (TTFF).
. Support NMEA0183 v2.2 data protocol and SiRF binary code.
. 4 colors LED to show the status of device.
. Active antenna connector for getting better satellites signal.
. FLASH based program memory. New software revisions upgradeable through
serial interface.
. Small, sleek, and lightweight design easily fits in your hand.
. Over-Temperature protection
. Enhanced algorithms -SnapLock and SnapStart provide superior navigation,
performance in urban, canyon and foliage environments.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] lobalsat verses Royaltek receivers
Hi all
I've been using the Earthmate serial gps receiver for a couple of years or
so but now want to go to Bluetooth, I've enquire with Humanware here in UK
and they're no longer distributing the Holux receiver which I see is still
being promoted on the Sendero website.
They have suggested the following two models:
- Globalsat BT 338
- Royaltek RBT 2110
Have any users out there had experience of either of these receivers? I'd
appreciate some comments before committing myself to one or the other,
I've looked at the spec's for both and rather like the sound of the
Royaltek what's your thoughts?
I use the gps with M'power daily in town and rural settings on foot, bus,
train and by car.
Kind regards Gavin and trusty Mr Nathan
