Hi,

Some things worth noting about loadstone...
first. by obtaining and using tools from www.rmpro-hosting.com/ls/
www.loadstone-gps.pl/groute along with a database importer and command line
open street maps converter for loadstone that run on a windows pc or windows
virtual machine under apple, it is possible for loadstone to be almost every
bit as powerful as braillenote gps by sendero minus a few tiny details.
Example, I can use groute to plan a walking route from my house to a restaurant
in my city and back before I leave. put the routes into my phone, then have the
rooutes available to me when I want to load them up and use them. groute also
gives me all the points of interest sendero does. the way I do it is, routes go
in checkpoints files..I use them with the street map databases to get
directions to where I want to go. I have a separate database or two for points
of interest. So if I want to know about points of interest like restaurants and
stuff I just load the points of interest database and do an area view search to
have a look around while in navigation mode. In edition, loadstone also has an
exploration mode. I've also been able to cut corners with price on phones
etcetera and managed to set up my loadstone system for about $270 or so. I
personally am very happy with it using my holux m1000 bluetooth gps receiver.
