Hi Vicky,
The keyboard lock does, as you say, lock the keyboard. It helps keep you from
accidently exiting gps or executing commands you don't want while walking
or whatever. I usually lock the keyboard when I have the gps repeating my
position every 12 seconds or whatever repeat value I set. I find it very
helpful
for that.

But, what is the purpose of the keyboard lock? Oh, I know it locks the
keyboard; but, are you supposed to be able to perform or, maybe more likely,
hear any GPS commands while it is locked? Although I saw this keystroke in
the command list, I didn't see any mention of it in the manual.
