[gps-talkusers] Re: interesting directions from google

Hi Claude,

Hmmmmm, overland, no, but you might try ice up by the North Pole. Of
course, you'd have to go in January, what with global warming and
all. Then, even if you made Scandinavia, you'd still have that sticky
bit of some twenty miles of Channel. You need one of those cars that
goes on water too. Sorry, no real overland option. If you're
planning your jaunt in January, the Channel isn't very friendly then.
Dunnow what to suggest, really I don't. But perhaps a good geography
course, and then a good class in problem solving? <grinning>

You'd be surprised how many people have absolutely no idea in the
world how to get from New York to London except, "On a plane". If you
ask them what direction to go, they can't tell you. Hell, I've had
students from Rochester who can't even tell how to get from here to
Binghamton, let alone London, England, or even London Ontario. Had
one student who actually told me to go west from Rochester NY, to get
to Washington, D.C. I dunnow what the world's coming to, but it ain't
good, that's for sure.
