Hello Scott. That is great. I'm always willing to be educated. So, I
wonder, could this dot be made to look like a steak or a cat? Hmmm.
Scott Granados said the following on 11/14/2007 1:59 PM:
more specifically Sindero software in the core, that's what I should
have said. And actually there's some goggle technology as well as micro
projectors that would probably be nonintrusive enough to a dog to not be
an issue.

Well, how many dogs do you know of who will stand for wearing goggles?
Also, Sendero does not make the actual GPS technology, but instead
makes a product which utilizes gps technology. I could have
misunderstood your message. So if I did, I apologize.

Speaking of GPS and guide dogs. I've read papers concerning using a
GPS device (I believe a Sindero product) to supply data to a computer
that projects a dot in space using modified goggles to the dog
directly. The dog can follow the dot that's actuated by the GPS +
special software and receive direct feedback concerning the route
traveled. (need to take a right, the dot travels right) Sort of
like a hightech version of chase the laser pointer like you might
play with a cat. Interesting idea.

Hi Shanna,
Melinda and Smokey, My Mellow Fellow here,
I also use my gps along with my guide dog.
Take care, and be safe out there!
Your friends always,
Melinda and Smokey My Mellow Fellow and April, now our angel dog.
