First, the Trekker does have a miniuscule speaker built in. But the many of 
us with PK's carry an external speaker as well.
One cautionary thing with the Trekker, route creation is there, but you don't have the scale of features that you do with Sendero. You can't, for example, 
mark waypoints along the way, or go in and edit the route.
On a large college campus, it may be necessary to create routes where you have breadcrumbs on the way. For example, to get from the administration building to the library, you have to pass a group of intersecting sidewalks. You could mark this intersection and note that you take the walk which goes 45 degrees to the right. If you mark that spot as a POI, the Sendero will let you know 
when you are at that intersection.
I know you can do similar things with the Trekker, but you can't do some of 
the more specialized things.  However, there is a considerable price
difference if you have to also get an mPower at a minimum to run Sendero.

Hi all:
I am right now looking between either the sendero braille note gps and/or the 
The Trekker.
If I understand it, the The Trekker is three hardware components, the pda
speaker and receiver. Whereas with the braille note product, you have the bn 
and the receiver.  As an mPower user, this might be fore me the way to go
maybe?
How have people with the The Trekker liked the system?
Is it all very bulky carrying around three pieces of hardware?
Also, how accurate are both of these gps systems?
Sorry for all the questions.
I am just looking at all the different options.
As a freshman going into college, I can see this gps technology beeing very 
useful to me as I navigate from class to class and around the campus by me
beeing able to create different routes.
