[gps-talkusers] exploring the inaugural city

Despite all the talk of security on the Mall for the inauguration, there wasn't much that we came across. There also wasn't much in terms of crowd control. Thousands of people just milled toward the streets when the inauguration was over.
I had marked our entry points with my GPS and was probably one of the few who knew which way to head. My sighted friends couldn't see any of the openings but I knew where they were. Kind of scary sometimes it was so packed but everyone was pretty mello.
I also used my BrailleNote to record some of the sound from the crowd perspective. It will be interesting to see what it conveys. 
Absolutely amazing experience.

I logged several miles today around Washington D.C.. These circles are fun to navigate. It is a fun challenge finding the best combination of bus, metro and walking to get where I am going.
I attended the Disability Power and Pride Inaugural Ball last night. This was the real challenge of the trip. I am certain there were lots of people at the ball who I know but there was no way to find out who was there. There were 1000 people and loud music. I wanted a people finder to announce the names of the people in my vicinity. 


We'll see how we fare at the main inauguration event tomorrow.
