Charles, thanks for the tip. I had loaded in maps east, and from what I'd
read, was under the impression that that file had all states to the east of
the Mississippi River. That was my problem, because when I did the enter
when asked for state in the address look up, Illinois was not there, and
neither was Wisconsin. Having lived across the Mississippi River from
Illinois for almost 64 years, I know it's east of that river, but not in
these files!
Another thing I've noticed, when looking at pois in Davenport, Iowa, my
home town again for almost 64 years, it wasn't giving street addresses but
only said highway exit. Does being in virtual mode eliminate street
addresses? I didn't think so.
Anyway, I found Illinois!

Try just pressing enter when asked for the state and it should tell
you which states are loaded, then pick one from there.
