Karen,
I thought that I answer both of your questions here.
As far as creating a User POI before getting on the train, this
is possible
if you are able to pick up satellites at your current location.
So, when
pressing G for the GPS Status, it will say something like, "WAAS,
9 feet. 11
satellites" or "No fix, acquiring satellites." If you receive a
message
similar to the first one, then you will be able to Record a User
POI, but if
you receive a message similar to the second one, then it isn't
possible.
Generally, it is very hard or impossible to pick up satellites
while
underground.
TO obtain the Collective User POIs which include ATM's, Talking
ATM's,
Transit location, Exits and User submitted POIs, visit
www.MySendero.com
There are instructions of how to download and submit POIs. There
are over
11,000 User submitted POIs and that number is growing every
month.
Thanks,
Kevin

Aha well, thank you. Could I create user poi before getting on
the train? I
thought nothing would come in on underground because radio won't
work. So
perhaps that is not possible with gps either. Karen

Hi Karen,
If the stations are in the poi database you should find them, if
not
you won't be able to find the stations.
Try doing a search on the category bus/rail with no search
string.
I do know someone created user POI's for the stops of the trolley
tour.
As far as your second question, if you are underground on the
subway
GPS will not work. I had a hard time getting the fix on the
commuter
train from north station to Salem and that was above ground. It
may
have been where I was sitting on the train.
Hope this helps.
Chris

I also have a question. I have been virtually searching Boston

all stations are listed, and I cannot get it to do them for a
specific line ex. Red line, green line etc. Is this possible?
What will happen when I'm riding on the subway with gps on? Will
it list stations or will they not come up at all? Karen and Harpo
