[gps-talkusers] e: Re: edundant 2008 files?

Hi Chris, well forgive me but I am still confused. I would think that rather then deleting the newest 2008 files, I would want to delete older ones and keep the latest ones. Jim

Hi Jim,
the 2008-USA-rmf files are the ones released a couple days ago.
You can delete those, but make sure you get both files, .pdb and
rmf.

you may have duplicate pois because the same poi might be in the
commercial database as well as the new rmf files.

If you view a pois details you can scroll down to the "tags"
field, if
it says RMF the POI is in the new RMF files.

Hope this helps.

Hi Chris, I am trying to figure out if I have too many redundant
files in my maps directory. I can't send you all the names but
they are the 2008 user and Usa files. I downloaded the latest
ones that were created on Monday 12 15 and put them in my maps
folder thinking they would replace some older versions of same,
but they didn't. So my question is, do I need all of the 2008
files or are some redundant and can I delete them? Thanks, Jim
