When I first got GPS, I took it everywhere, but have found that it is
not necessary in my familiar surroundings. However, I always take it
when using taxis or paratransit, as the drivers often do not know where
they are supposed to be going.

Go point. I am from a small town and now live on a small college
campus, so once I know the area that is all I need to know. In a larger
city it would be very difficult to navigate, and I can see how a gps
could help there. Even in small towns it would have helped to have had
gps grow up.
Have a great day,
Alex
