I think that's a really solid point actually. I think Sendero is dead on with this actually. One of the things I hate are vendors that deliberately resell off the shelf products at ridiculous markups. I'll give a good example. Cisco charges thousands of dollars for a 512 megabyte memory upgrade. They are literally rebranding and relabeling Kingston memory and for the exact same part off the web you can order the memory for $199.00. That type of policy makes everyone unhappy and brings a lot of ill will in to the picture. On the flip side, Sendero charges a reasonable rate for their receiver, gives you a value add with a case and a further value add by supporting the entire solution. The fees are reasonable and any loss in savings you gain by having a single point of contact. What's nice though is Sendero tells you off the bat that it's an off the shelf receiver and if you want you can price shop the unit. You're trading off direct support and in some cases that's ok, it's nice to have that choice and have it presented honestly. As someone who's in the market for a braille device and a good GPS solution this scores a lot of points with me and definitely enters favorably in to my decision making process.

You also won't have the support from Sendero if something isn't right when you get the receiver--you'll be dealing with whichever company you have purchased the receiver from. As for me, I'd prefer dealing with people I trust. Debby and Cleo
