Dave,
Yes, this is possible, it is called "turns only mode." To access
this do r then m once you are in the GPS program. You are able
to toggle between "Turns Only" or to get everything including the
waypoints.

Hi, When in virtual mode and exploring a long rout, is there any
way to turn off some of the way points and, for example, look at
just the turns? In other words, is it possible to get a
description like, take highway X so far and turn on county road Y
and so forth as opposed to traversing through every way point,
some of which are fifty feet apart?
