[gps-talkusers] Re: e: Comparison of Holux vs. EarthMate

Is the Holux the bluetooth one?
I did figure out my POI problem. In the options, it is not saying the right folder. I've changed it, but every time I open the GPS, I have to change it again.
If I set a destination in real mode, not virtual, and then I start walking, can I go some other route and will the GPS still tell me, turn here, turn there? I could not get that to work. When I created a virtual route from home, or at least what was serving as home, I had some trouble figuring out when to turn. The waypoints were announced, but not which way to turn, and if I turned wrong or did not turn at all, it did not tell me nor did it correct for it, in other words, calculate the route differently to take my mistake into account. What did I do wrong? I have not had this in the past, but maybe because I was doing things differently.

Hello Kevin,
I am very happy with the holux.
I had the earthmate, and I find the switch on the holux much easier, and I get 11 to 12 satellites when traveling on a bus.
So I would definately recomend the Holux.
Robert

Dear Listers,
I have a question for users who used the EarthMate GPS reciever,
then switched to the Holux reciever. I have heard that there is a great deal of difference with the ease of turning the reciever on and off, being able to get more satellites, being able to get a fix quicker, and also being able to get satellites in locations where you found it hard to get satellites before using the EarthMate.

So, I was wondering what is your opinion on this from a user's
perspective.
Kevin
