You're just trying to talk me into buying that bt-338 receiver. <grin>

Well, grin, I just gave up and let the PK tell me when the receiver is off
and on. For, if the receiver is off, then of course it won't be detected
when I try to start GPS. And, when I'm ready to stop using the GPS, I
always turn the receiver off first, so I will then be told that the receiver
isn't detected. Now, this can take a couple of times of trial and error,
but it eventually does work. I do find, though, that this process takes
just a bit less time using the BT-338 receiver than it does with the Blue
Logger.

Just had an interesting experience with the blue Logger bluetooth receiver.

My wife just got her MPower transplant and it now has gps v3.3 on it. I had
to play with the blue logger a bit of course and found that it can be tricky
to tell
whether the receiver is on or off.

But I did find a very reliable way to tell. The only problem is that you
need to be wearing hearing aids for this to work.

If you are wearing aids, turn on your t-coil which you normally use for the
telephone or whatever. Put the logger receiveer up to your ear. When the
receiver is on you will hear sort of a buzzing sound. Press the button and
hold for about 4 seconds and then release. The buzz will fade away and stop
after
a second. Now you know the receiver is off.

If you press the button again and hold it for about 2 seconds you will hear
the buzz again and if you release the button, the buzz continues so you know
that
the receiver is on.

For the hearing impaired, this is actually better than some receivers which
will put out a beep but it is usually so quiet that you really can't hear it
with aids.

As for those who don't wear aids, I don't know what to tell ya.
