[gps-talkusers] determining whether the blue logger is on or off

Just had an interesting experience with the blue Logger bluetooth receiver.

My wife just got her MPower transplant and it now has gps v3.3 on it. I had to
play with the blue logger a bit of course and found that it can be tricky to
tell
whether the receiver is on or off.

But I did find a very reliable way to tell. The only problem is that you need
to be wearing hearing aids for this to work.

If you are wearing aids, turn on your t-coil which you normally use for the
telephone or whatever. Put the logger receiveer up to your ear. When the
receiver is on you will hear sort of a buzzing sound. Press the button and
hold for about 4 seconds and then release. The buzz will fade away and stop
after
a second. Now you know the receiver is off.

If you press the button again and hold it for about 2 seconds you will hear the
buzz again and if you release the button, the buzz continues so you know that
the receiver is on.

For the hearing impaired, this is actually better than some receivers which
will put out a beep but it is usually so quiet that you really can't hear it
with aids.

As for those who don't wear aids, I don't know what to tell ya.
