Hi Mike, enjoyed your podcast reviewing both wayfinder and mobile gio. It helped a lot in understanding the pros and cons of both. I currently have a Trekker system. But was thinking of getting one of the mobile systems. I was thinking, it would be handy as a backup to trekker. Or for those times, when having the Trekker unit isn't convenient. I have a Nokia N82 which I have only had since start of the year. Therefore, Wayfinder is looking at being the most logically choice. In your review, you had both systems running at the same time. However, I think you had a separate receiver for each system Is that correct? Do you know, is it possible for me to have Wayfinder paired to the same receiver as Trekker? By that, I mean, have both systems obtaining their GPS signal from the one receiver at the one time? Would it cause any degradation in the accuracy of the information either system would be giving me? I know I could just turn off Trekker, and then start up Wayfinder. But was just curious.

I would say this is not the case. If you go to blindcooltech.com, I had done a comparison there of the two products, way finder access and Mobile Geo, that might help you to get a better idea of how they work. Of course, there's nothing like actually trying the product for yourself, but many people including myself love way finder access. On May 30, 2009, at 6:37 AM, Eric Brinkman wrote:Are you referring to Wayfinder access? I use a Nokia N95 with Talks, and I have heard that Wayfinder is vastly inferior to Sendero. No, its probably not as user friendly or accurate as Sendero's GPS product since the GPS Access program relys on bouncing its signal from one cell tower antenna to the next, but it'll give you a goodsense of your surrounding location, and will display a list of POIS.
