[gps-talkusers] Re: Verbosity.

yes, agreed. This would also be useful for speech users because sometimes it
takes to long for the BN to spit out the info you want.

  Subject: [gps-talkusers] Verbosity.

  Hello all,
I'd like to introduce a new topic for discussion. It seems to me that in a
future release it would be great to have some verbosity settings. this would
be very important for those of us who like to operate with braille only.
I paid very close attention to the messages I was reading on the way to work
this morning. Bebecause I had a route open, I was getting most of the cross
streets. However, for most waypoints I received three messages. First, I
read "next..." then "approaching..." and then "near.." It's no wonder the
unit has trouble keeping up. I'd love to see a way to reduce the number of
messages. For example, "next" would be fine, "approaching" takes up 8 cells
of the 18 cells PK display.
Maybe there already is a way to do this but I don't know how. My selections
seem to be between detailed, or turns only. How about a "brief as opposed to
  details.
Anyone else have thoughts on this matter.
Looking forward to hearing from people.

  Doug Wakefield
