[gps-talkusers] Varying mileage designations

Is there a way to decrease the amount of info given in the mileage
designation? Example: When browsing a route, I'd just like to hear that the
distance is, say, .25 miles instead of the number of digits that's currently
spoken, which of course I can't recall off the top of my head. 

I fully understand how having such precise info can be helpful, but frankly,
for my taste, it's a bit too much. 

Any hints would be hugely appreciated.
