Installing Sendero GPS on the BrailleNote Apex is slightly different then
installing on the mPower or PK. The steps will be discussed below:
1. Using your PC download the installation package. An example of the file
name is
GPSInstaller_6_2_Build_308.HWP.
2. Copy the file to an SD card. Note: the Apex does not have a Compact flash
or PCMCIA slot, so any reference to either of these in the manuals should be
considered the SD card.
3. Insert the SD card into the SD slot. See the Apex manual for details on
inserting and removing SD cards.
4. If the Apex is switched on when you insert the SD card you will receive a
message informing you to press the reset button to install packages. The reset
button is located behind the on/off switch and is black in color. You may need
to use a pointed object such as the tip of a pen.
5. Press the reset button and wait a few seconds. After the music plays you
will be asked to install GPSInstaller_6_2_Build_307. Press Y to continue
installing Sendero GPS or press N to return to the main menu.
6. You are then informed that the installation was successful and are returned
to the main menu. You can start Sendero GPS by pressing the letter N from the
main menu without having to do any other reset.
