I have mine sorted by conversation (I use Outlook Express), and love it.
But I don't get the dialog asking if I'm sure I want to delete the
conversation. I also wish there was a way to read by conversation starting
from oldest to newest, but with my program, when I'm in a message and hit
delete, it automatically puts me into the next message, which might be the
beginning of a different conversation; so I look at conversations from
newest to oldest.
Okay, I'll quit, since this isn't GPS related, but I enjoy any tips people
have to offer to make sorting and reading messages go faster. And yes,
sorting by conversation has been a great help to me.

No worries Mary Ellen,
Wouldn't the suggestions you pose only work with a specific email client?
I don't think I have this option under Eudora... But then again maybe I
need to update my old email client and get something a little more modern
;)
Thanks
Charles.

Guys in the view menu alt v, you can sort your e-mail by conversations. In
doing this you get the top message of any conversation and when you delete
this message you will get the message Messages in this conversation will
be deleted, do you want to continue? If you press y for yes, you delete
the entire grouping of messages under that particular topic. If not,
simply press your right arrow and the conversation grouping will open and
you can read to your heart's content. I have had my e-mail set this way
for years and it has cut my time in reading e-mail by 2/3.
Also if you find you don't want say Mary Ellen Earls' messages, you can go
and block Ms Earls so any messages this chatty old lady sends out go into
your deleted messages box.
Mike and Charles, I do hope I am not overstepping my boundaries here but I
just wanted to make people aware of these 2 options, so pardon me if I
have strayed too far here.
