[gps-talkusers] Situation 5, arrival distance factors

Situation 5, Arrival Distance Factors

On the Sendero Chat this week, there was a discussion of how and when
announcements for waypoints, turns and intersections were triggered. We had
to go to Charles for the final answer and even he had to look it up in the
code.

Question 5: Is there a way to reduce the intersection trigger announcement
from 200 feet to something less?

Answer 5: The default Arrival distance, found in the GPS Options Menu, is
set to 50 feet. All triggers are tied to this 50 feet number. Reduce 50
feet to 30 feet and other automatic trigger announcements will be reduced
proportionately. There are complex formulas that impact the various
announcements but the bottom line is that all of them are connected to the
Arrival Distance factor in the GPS Options menu.
