Situation 2: What is the adjacent state?
My wife and I are driving along a windy highway in Southern Oregon. We are
debating how far we are from the California border. We know we are
somewhere in the range of 10 to 40 miles.
Question 2: How do you query the BrailleNote GPS for the nearest state
beyond the one you are in?
Answer2:
Press Chord F for Find followed by the minimum number of miles away you
think the state is from your GPS position.
Enter the furthest distance away the state might be and press Enter.
Select the "All" category.
Enter a space, the two-letter state code and a comma. Then press Enter.
Don't make the distance too large or you may have a very long search.
The nearest address that has the state in it, should come up. Press the
Chord P to hear the details of the POI to make sure it is in the state you
desire.
If the point and city you find don't mean anything to you, set the point as
your Virtual position and then do a search from that Virtual position for
the nearest city. Something more recognizable may appear in the list.
In our case, we were on Dead Indian Memorial Highway between Ashland and
Klamath Falls Oregon, paralleling the California border, ten miles away.
