One of the things Sendero has always said is that "Not one size fits all" nor is one product best for all situations. The iPhone is wonderful for consuming information but I don't think it is as productive for writing or sending information. I don't mind reading emails on my iPhone but I always write emails on my computer or BrailleNote. So, when it comes to GPS, we want the Seeing Eye GPS product to be easy to use and full functioning for those who just don't want to carry a notetaker for whatever reason. We fully expect the BrailleNote and Sense GPS products to remain as a good solution for both consuming information and especially for efficiently writing and researching. When it comes to figuring out destinations and giving driving instructions to a friend or cab driver, I will be using my PK. In other less time sensitive situations where I am just following a route and wanting basic LookAround information, the iPhone GPS will be great. When or if this iPhone app comes out, what will happen to Braille note users of the product? The intention is that it will have a straight forward easy to use user interface with turn by turn capabilities. We had a couple user group sessions at CSUN to get everyone's wish list for an iPhone app. I have the XGPS Bluetooth arm band GPS receiver for the iPhone. Hard to tell if it is better than the built in GPS. It is kind of a pain to wear it. You’re welcome, Dale. I also am interested in this application. I’m hoping Mike’s presentation will be recorded and accessible to those who are not able to attend the convention. I’m currently at Carroll Center for the blind as an instructor for a program dealing with access technology and my supervisor, Brian Charlson, and I were talking about the seeing eye gps last night… He attended the focus group at CSun. Ah thanks Hope, I just noted reference to it in the news announcement from Sendero but there wasn't any additional information about it. I will be very interested as I have never had any particular interest in those note takers nor the extra equipment to pack around. I really prefer the universal functionality of a notebook computer but the iPhone pretty well includes most of that now along with a phone and perhaps soon a fully functional GPS solution. Awesome. Again thank you Hope. It’s an application that has not yet been released by Sendero. I believe it’s a fully functional gps program that will work similar to mobile geo or the sender gps programs for the note takers.
