Rita,

You are quite correct.  If ones need to use the laptop for longer time, it
has to connect to power source, like from the car or at home.  Fortunately
it is not too hard to do.

The battery life for a laptop is really bad.  As I understand it, it is only
about 4 hours as compared to the 15 or 20 hours you have with a braille
note.
I have toyed with the idea of getting a laptop to back up my braille note. 
The biggest drawback has been my understanding of the battery life on a
laptop.
