[gps-talkusers] Re: POIs on a campus

Julie,

I have mapped a couple campuses with POIs. I typically engage someone who knows the campus well, get an electric cart and proceed to zoom around campus marking POIs. It is good to have some common terminalogy in mind that is descriptive but short. It takes about 4 hours to map a big ampus like UC Davis, over 100 POIs. We have also marked POIs on the UC Berkely campus, Stanford, SF State, Sacramento State, Arizona State University, Santa Rosa Junior College, Solano college and probably a few others. Florida State University has the most dense POIs of any campus. There are probably others. They forget to share the user POIs sometimes. All of the above should be in our current User collective POI file.

Hello,

I am an O&M Specialist (currently on a leave of absence while back in school) and I'm learning how to use Sendero GPS so that I my teach it in the future. I'm working on learning how to set POIs create manual routes; it was suggested that a good place to work on this would be on a college campus. At this time, I'm just going to be making a few routes for my own practice, but I was wondering what types of POIs other people have done for college campuses -- what is most helpful?

Thanks.
