[gps-talkusers] Re: Ordered the Holux

Hi Peggy,

Well actually, you can look at the blue logger in terms of how to pair it using bluetooth. That's really all you need to know. With ks 7.5, pairing is really easy though, much easier pairing with a gps receiver than with a cell phone. You don't even have to enter an authorization code when asked for one on the MPower, just press enter and it pairs almost instantly.

And, there's only one switch on the Holux which is the on/off slide switch, so you really can't go wrong.

I don't currently have the m1000 but do have the 236 which operates the same way and it really is nice.

I really don't think you'll regret the change at all once you see how well the Holux works.

Don

You had me going there for a minute, Don! <lol> It sounds so foreign to me, but I remember how foreign the Earthmate seemed after the Sportrak, so it's just a matter of reading the documents and doing what they say. I just looked through the Sendero documents and didn't see anything about Holux receivers, but did see something about the Blue Logger. Did I miss something?

Peggy,

It will take a while to get the holux receiver up and running. Probably about 15 seconds. <smile>

Thanks, Chris. And it's all your and Charles's fault for talking me into ordering it. <grin> I just hope I can get it up and running and get comfortable with it before mid-October when we go on our trip to Monterey. <smile>

Hi Peggy, I guess Santa came early for you.
rest assured it is the m-1000 that will be arriving at your house.
Merry Christmas

Well, guys, remembering to participate in the GPS chat can do wonders to the pocketbook. <grin> I told those online that I'm still using an Earthmate, and they all talked about how wonderful the Holux is and how much more quickly it acquires satellites, so I decided to order one. The Sendero site just said "Holux", so I'm hoping it's the M1000. But it will be fun to have
it for our upcoming trip to Monterey in a couple weeks.
