Hi Paul,Okay. Try this. Set your virtual position to long beach california. You can pick a cross street or whatever to get pinpointed.
Then do the advanced poi search with read f on the qt. SEt the start distance to 0 and the ending distance to maybe 10 miles or a little more. Search all categories and for the string put:
los angeles cruise ship trmnland see if you get it. I get it here and it shows as being in San Pedro ca. Then if that isn't the exact one you want, you can set it as your virtual position and you'll be in san pedro. I set my virtual position to near 2300 mira mar ave long beach, long beach-lakewood california.
It shows the terminal as being 8.85 miles sw of that location. Try it and see what happens. Don----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Henrichsen" <paulh52@xxxxxxxxxxx>

The one I am looking for is the cruise terminal in San Pedro, California. But since that isn't on the map, it's a good guess how you would set up aroute<grin>. If you are talking about addresses on edinburgh street, I found a few. Some were in San Francisco, others were in San Mateo. As for the World Cruise Center, I did not find it in San Francisco, but I did findWorld Cruise Travel in San Jose California. If you give me specifics of what exactly you are trying to look for, I may be able to help even if I'm using a Voice Sense which for the most part, searches the same way. If you want to send me a particular address privately, let me know and I'll look it up and won't give it out publicly.Paul Henrichsen wrote:I couldn't even find my grandmother's house in San Francisco and she has lived there for 40 years. There was no edinburgh. I don't know how to doanadvanced poi search, just the control F one where it asks for the startingpoint and ending point, and the name. See if you can find the world cruise center. I couldn't. It's like the maps do not know that Centennial exists. If you navigate to a place in Centennial, the map shows South Glenn area, Littleton, or Greenwood area. So, you have to search for a business or POI in Centennial, Co for the search of an item to be successful, then you can check the city location and then, you can do an address based on using the city given. Not the best, but for now, it's a work-around. Kevin Chao wrote:Paul,This is where it gets a bit trickey as this depends on where the mapping company decides to draw the city lines. In this case, they are deciding to draw it in Los Angeles. So if you place yourself anywhere in LosAngeles then do an AdvancePOI Find with the: starting at 0 ending 10 use the city category andtype in San Pedro, you ought to find it. Then if you decide to set yourVirtual position there and check the city, it will report, "Los Angeles, California"Yes, it looks like the only way to explore around the World CruiseCenter is an address lookup. State: California City: Los Angeles Address Number: 600 Street Name: Harbor Blvd, N Hope this helps for current and future address lookups Kevin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *From:* gps-talkusers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:gps-talkusers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] *On Behalf Of *PaulHenrichsen*Sent:* Saturday, December 15, 2007 11:36 AM *To:* Gps-Talk Users *Subject:* [gps-talkusers] No San Pedro in the california mapsHi, Gang.
