[gps-talkusers] New Zealand points of interest recording

Greetings from Christchurch New Zealand. I arrived in Auckland yesterday and
managed to record 125 points of interest around the city before taking the
short flight here today. I am about to head out and start the same point
recording around Christchurch.

It is always interesting to be back to the POI only way of operating. I miss
the street data but once I get a number of points recorded, it starts being fun
to navigate my way around town based on those points. This keeps the "getting
warmer" method of navigating well practiced.

The only commercial points are one per city so at least one can find out how
far away a town or city is. I'll be looking into getting commercial data. Can't
have you only visiting restaurants or museums I have been to. Sure is a
beautiful country to be exploring.

There is an Asia dealer's conference here so I look forward to hearing about
adaptive technology in several countries and showing them GPS on the
BrailleNote.
