[gps-talkusers] My day with the gps:

Mary Ellen,

It definitely takes a certain amount of nerve to set off independently to find a place you have never been. As I have worked with various people over the years on GPS, I have noted that success with the technology is partially due to the level of nerve the person has and not so much whether or not they are technology savvy. If one has the nerve, then he or she will be motivated to explore independently and to deal with inevitable technology or O&M glitches along the way. I wish we could bottle nerve and sell it with every GPS product.

Mike

Hi folks!
I have had a wonderful day with the gps.
I was invited to an early social with lunch following and since I wasn't familiar with the area I made a vehickle route to the place where I was to go
Anyway, as it turned out the cab driver was totally unfamiliar with this area so I called up the route and got us there.
Then I came home and Peg and I took a lovely walk on the walking path and Peg wanted to go exploring so I was able to get us untangled with the help of the gps.
So it was neat talking about this to some of the folks at the luncheon and since most were newly blinded, they couldn't figure out how I got up the nerve to do all of this.
Anyway a good time was had by all and I had some of the best fried chicken and chocolate cake ever.
