I have had situations where I would get a fix, lose it, an get it back.
Once you get it the second time, you don't lose it again. Sometimes,
you have to be patient when it comes to using GPS.

Mike, is it common to experience acquiring three sattelites at first, then
it drops out for a few seconds or so, then comes back again with three and
then improves to more sattelites? I have taken to just leaving my
earthmate receiver in the pouch as it does reasonably well and I think
produces less ware on the connecting cables then having the receiver on my
shoulder strap.
