Well, my husband found two 8 gig compact flash cards at Office Max, so I'm copying the maps to them for now. I have regions 1 through 5 on the first card, and now I'm region 7 on the second card, so I'm getting there.

Yeah, that's how I use my cf cards. I almost never use the back
slot.

You mean like a PCMCIA card? I don't think they make those
anymore, do
they?

Ah, that's true. How about a PC card?

The thing about a thumb drive that concerns me is that it would
be sticking
out of the BrailleNote and could get bumped.

I suppose I could get a 16 gb card instead of a 32; but I was
thinking I
wanted to make sure and have room for poi files too, and I know a
lot of
people have used 32 gig cards successfully. I just wonder if
there's
something I need to double check on in the descriptions of cards.

Peggy,

It's possible that you just got a defective card. It rarely
happens, but
it's still a possibility. Would it be possible to fit all the
maps you
want on a 16GB card? I don't know if there's a size limit on
cards the
M-Power can handle. You might also consider keeping your maps
on a flash
drive.

Hi, all. Well, I'm sending my card back to Newegg for a refund.
I've
had good luck with them in the past, and I still don't know what
was
wrong this time. Someone suggested that perhaps my card reader
can't
read high capacity cards, and that I should get a new card
reader. But
we tried it on two separate readers, with the same results. If
anyone
discovers a specific card model that works with the BrailleNote
for
storing GPS maps, I'd love it if you could either post the link
to the
card, or e-mail me privately. I really want to get all the maps
for this

version loaded.

I ordered

the wrong thing, and how I can get the right thing
