Dear GPS Users,
After quite a bit of messing with manual routes; I have found a way of
changing both the direction and the description of a way point. I find that
this ability is important because if there is a minor mistake or detail that
you meant to add into a way point, now it is possible. The most simple and
direct way of changing a way point is by going back to that physical
location and remarking and reentering the waypoint name, direction, and
description. But, lets say you want to change all of this information
without being at the pyhsical location.
You would want to open a route that you have previously created, by hitting
r to get into route command followed by o to get into the open menu, then
select your route. Walk through the route virtually by using the arrow keys
on a qwerty keyboard, or dots 2, 3, 5, 6, on a BT style keyboard. Then do a
chord v to set that point as your virtual position, now that the point you
want to correct is set as your virtual position, go into the edit mode by
hitting the letter e, and erase that waypoint, it will ask if you are sure,
and if you are type y for yes. Now, do a chord e to exit the edit mode, then
hit chord k to enter a waypoint, it will give you the name of the waypoint
you just set as your virtual position, it will ask for both the direction
and the description. The point will be placed at the location in which it
was originated, for example, if the point you marked was waypoint 13, and
you go and modify the point, it will retain the waypoint number and remain
waypoint 13. This sequence can be carried out for as many waypoints that
will require modification to either the direction of the waypoint or the
description of the waypoint. Don't forget to save all modification, if the
modification are worthy of saving.
Happy Manual Routeing.
Kevin
