[gps-talkusers] Re: I have a question

You have 2 poi's in the user poi folder and one is a actual fix with the
receiver and the other is calculated from the address you put in then it
plotted the poi from the map information. You will find the one you do with
the actual fix will be more accerat then the enter addressed one. This is
because the address is from the middle of the street in frunt of your home,
i.e. the center line of the street.

So does that mean I have two POI's in my user poi file with my address
only?

Yes you can.

You need to have the gps software running. Then you can eather go
outside in frunt of or where ever at your home and when you have a sat
fix and the gps announces where you ar, do the following. Hit the y key
and you should get a lat and long reading if the gps has a fix on your
position. Then do a g key to see what sat status is for example it
would say something like good 6 sattlelites. Now get to the spot you
wish to mark as your poi and hit
space+ dot 3. it will ask you to name the poi, give it a name and then
space+ do a
space e and it is in your user poi folder.
You can do the address eather with a sat fix or no fix. If you are in
the house and then do not turn the gps receiver just turn on the gps
software. You will hear gps active loading maps, then no receiver
detected hit v for vertural, so hit a v. now you are in virtual mode.
Hold down the space bar and do a s. you hear state name, type in your
state and hit enter. Just keep filling in the prompts and when it finds
your address you can then save it as a poi by doing a p.

Hi,
I've read everything twice and now just have to play with it. I was
wondering if I can set my home as a POI by address. I tried doing space
with s but that didn't work.
