Two things about this SirfStar III receiver:
It uses the same battery as the Nokia 660, 6620 and 6682 phones. The
charger plug is different but it could be handy to swap batteries if
need be between the phone and receiver.
When using the Holux recently on a trip,. I found that it took at
least 7 and a half minutes to acquire satellites 2000 miles from
where it was last used. I was in the open. This receiver acquires
quickly when it is near the last place it was used. I was surprised
it took so long.
It is normal for a receiver to take a bit longer when you travel but
I find the Blue Logger picks up satellites in a new location under 5
minutes. Those of you using the Holux receiver, please make note of
the acquisition time when you next travel over 300 miles with it.
