Hi Kevin,

I have a question on your comment below.

- The purpose of the USB connection on the Holux receiver is to charge the
unit. The M-1000 takes about 4 hours to charge fully and
- the 236 takes about 2 hours, the M-1000 has a battery life about double that
of the 236, which explains the longer charging time.

I thought I had read on the list that the 236 and 1000 use the same model
battery, 850mAh capacity. Is that correct?

If so, I would expect any difference in charge time to be controlled by
charging circuitry and the power provided during the charging cycle.

From what I have read the longer operation for the M1000 on a charge is a
result of more efficient circuitry.

If the batteries and battery capacity for the two receivers aren't the same,
my comments don't apply.

        Greg

- For further explanations on pairing and using the GPS receiver, I would
consult the User Guide or Audio Tutorial entitled,
- "03PairingAndInstallingGPS"

- The User Guide can be found onboard in the Active Help Menu or at
MySendero.com along with the Audio Tutorial.

- Hi Albert, you don't connect the M-1000 using a USB cable. you use Blue
- Tooth
- which is wireless. Go to your options menu and hit the letter C for
- connect. Then, hit letter B for blue tooth. Now it will say starting
- bluetooth. After a few moments, the unit will ask you if you want to search
- for devices. Hit Y for yes. After a few moments it will find the Holux
- M-1000. It may also find other devices like your cell phone or computer if
- they have bluetooth. Now you want to pair the Holux receiver by doing
- 0000. Next you will need to activate the receiver. To do this, go to the
- list of bluetooth devices and hit enter on the holux m-1000. It may say
- paired in which case you want to hit A for activate. Or, it may say paired
- and active. Now go to your gps program and open it. Hopefully it will find
- the M-1000 receiver.
- Now I want to make a disclaimer here. I am only a user. I use an Mpower BT
- not a QT so there may be some differences in the letters you have to use in
- order to find and activate your bluetooth receiver. I am not familiar with
- the QT. At any rate this is a start and I am sure you will get much clearer
- advice from Kevin, Charles and probably numerous other folks on the list. I
- wouldn't have written but when I read your email, no one else had yet
- answered your question.
- So, forgive me for leaving out stuff or not splaining it clearly. It's late
- and I am going to sign off. Good luck! Jim
