[gps-talkusers] Help needed with Outi headphones

I recently received a set of Outi headphones for use with the BrailleNote
GPS. After some experimentation, and some tests outdoors, I find that the
sound levels are too soft for intelligibility when walking on a moderately
busy street. The BN volume is set at 32, and
the Outi phones are set at their highest level.
I understand that other Sendero GPS users have had good luck with these
phones, and
am wondering if I have a defective unit, or am not using the set properly.
I'd be interested in talking to folks who are successfully using these
phones--especially
from the Sacramento, California area.
I like the idea of keeping my ears unobstructed. However, I need to be able
to hear the BN adequately in my travel environment. Any help on, or offlist
would be appreciated.
Thanks, in advance to all for any advice or direction.
