[gps-talkusers] GPS on trains

hi all, This maybe a question best answered by someone from Sendero but any users who have any experiences ...

I was told that the Sendero GPS system was able to give you route information on a train as if you were in a car and travelling on the road network. That is to say that a similar structure existed for rail networks as does for the road network.

Is this correct and if so how does it work? Where does the information come from?

Currently I use a Trekker and the best way to get useful information when travelling by train, particularly about the upcoming train station is to put the Trekker in to its Free mode.

But its not possible to create routes as the rail network is not included as a part of the map information.

Have I made any sense at all?

Thanks for any info
Yusuf
