[gps-talkusers] Re: GPS on the boat

Well 3 years ago when in Hawaii I used my gps ona boat which we took so the sighties in our group could see the marine life. While they were doing that I played with the GPS and mainly only got latitude and longitude as we were pretty far from land so I couldn't pick up any POI(s).

Did any of you try using Sendero GPS to navigate a rowing boat? I heard
something about sailing in the ocean, but that sounds too scary for me at
this time. But if I set a POI at the shore of a lake, then I can row my
boat anywhere on the lake and come back to that shore. That would be
awsome. There are a lot of lakes in my area where you can rent a boat. I
just wonder if anyone has tried something like that. Just hope that nothing
will happen to the GPS system while you are out there.
