Hi Carl.
I am not a braille note user or a sendero GPS user so I don't know if the chat
room is open but I have a very strong interest in GPS and therefore would like
to propose some subjects for the chat room.
1. Discuss the current state of GPS hardware (ie. in specific receivers.
a: Does xtrac v2.2 help the walking pedestrian?
a:1 Does the Syson plus receiver switch to Xtrac mode automaticly when
appropriate since it alone has no switch to change chip sets?
2. Discuss the tests that Sendero have done on the current receivers on the
market and believe me the market is changing month by month at this point so
receivers out in the last 3 months are better then those of even six months or
a year ago.
3. Discuss along the line of receiver technology the fact that some of the
older gps birds are being replaced by newer birds shortly and therefore the
current line of receivers may become obsolete sooner then expected because they
won't cover the newer frequencies.
a: There is one reciever on the market now that has 16 chzanels instead of the
usual 12 chanels, Is that receiver the one that is designed to cover the new
frequencies? Is that receiver in other respects as good as the competitions
receivers at the present time with regard to sensitivity, data aquizition speed
ETC.?
Hope these questions can spur sone interesting information sharing from those
in the know and I would would like to be a part of these discusions even if
just to listen.
