Hello List,
I just wanted to share a couple tricks I learned when I was
travelling on the Caltrain this past weekend on my way up to the
Guide Dogs reunion. Sendero demonstrated GPS on the bus trip from
San Francisco to San Rafael.
Tip #1 when you are in a new city and want to find fun things to see
or do. If you search out a few miles for "Tourist Attractions" you
will get a list of really cool things to do.
Tip #2 when you have lookaround turned on and set to "All" this is
great if you really don't care what you find, you are just exploring,
but if you are interested in a particular thing, then you should set
your lookaround POI category to something specific like "Restaurant" or "Shop"
Tip #3 when looking for a two digit number in a POI search eg. "Peir
39" but you want to find anything that has the # 39 in it, but if you
search for 39 it will only search for those POIs starting with 39
because the software when you search for a 1 or 2 character search
string it only searches for those POIs who's names begin with those
characters. So to find "39" anywhere in the POI name you need to add
a space to your search string i.e. " 39" without quotes (i.e. <space>39)
Now for a one digit number you would add spaces before and after that number.
Hope some of those can be of use to you all
Take care,
