Joleen,
That is very nice to hear that you had the chance to give directions to
others , be a tour guide for you and your friend, also experience with in in
a college campus, vehicle with the taxi driver and your husband. This is
just the start of the GPS adventure, I am sure that you will find many more
uses for the GPS.
waas is is a correctional system that is a ground based satellite that
correct signals that are sent from the satellites in outerspace that in
turn go to your waas enabled receiver. waas is something that appears once
in a while dependant on the sensativvity of your reciever and in order to
receive waas you must have waas enabled on your receiver, with newer
receivers you will be more likely to receive the correction that is
produced from waas I think the best correction that I received with the waas
correction was up to 9 feet, but that was tracking 12 satellites. It stands
for wide area augmented system and is something that is available in North
America, in other countries such as China, Japan, Europe and the UK, they
are working on different systems simular to the waas system here in North
America, the current one in Europe and that area is egnos.
I hope this helps, and happy Sendero GPSing
Kevin
