Hello Joleen,
You can rename your 5.0 user.pdb file to some other file name with extension pdb and then convert your old 4.22 file to user.pdb having both pdb files in your maps folder will give you access to the 5.0 pois you added as well as your old 4.22 data. 

Eg.
rename user.pdb (ie. the file you created from within 5.0) to something like joleen.pdb or original.pdb, or outoftown.pdb and then convert your 4.22 user.poi to user.pdb and copy that to your maps folder you will then have access to both sets of POIs.
Now using the User poi editor will only bring up the user.pdb pois, but if you search for a poi in joleen.pdb and go into the poi details you can edit these pois as well.

Now I am hoping that there is a way to combine the two user files.
My only thought is to convert the old user POI file and manually add the new data by putting in the latitude and longitude information and adding the additional information. The thing that troubles me is that if I should make an error, the out-of-town POI information may be way off and I am not able to get back to those places in a timely manner.
I have read that one can copy the information to the clipboard in version 5.0. Is it possible to paste this same information into the new database?
Thanks for any suggestions. There are only a few new ones to add, but it seems like a rather daunting task to me at this moment.
