Dick,
She is not talking about setting the time on the satellite receiver
itself. On the Braille Note, there is a feature that allows you to set
your clock by GPS time. By pressing Space with U, or CTRL-U on the QT
you can synchronize the BN or VN clock. Setting the receiver clock is
totally different.

Hello, Mary Ellen,
My GPS may be a little different from yours. When I want to set the proper
time, there is a menu that lets me choose time zones. I just set that. The
negative numbers are right there along with the positive ones. Negative
puts you in the US, positive puts you out my way. Somewhere, the user's
manual should have something to say about setting the local time. Try the
index for time zone. Your GPS should automatically keep the exact time, the
hour depending on whichever time zone you set. The GPS gets time signals
from the satellite.
I have the Earthmate with the cable connection to my laptop. I do not
remember how I set the time on that. I installed the soft on my Filipino's
laptop. It would not work right, so I tried to un-install the software.
When it un-installed, it took all of my USB connection soft with it. It
also made a hash of the graphic soft I use for viewing pics of places I have
been and people I have met. I hope no one else is having that problem. It
will spoil your day for sure.
Happy timesetting
Dick
