Hello, Brian,
Sorry that we missed each other on Skype, but your call came at a few minutes after 4 AM, so I was fast asleep. We're going to have to do something about that time difference. My zone time is plus 9, which means I add 9 hours to Grenwich time to get my time. If you are on the west coast of the US, the standard Pacific time zone is minus 8 hours from Grenwich. Daylight Saving Time changes that to minus 7. Therefore, I am 16 hours ahead of someone on the west coast. Actually, the easiest way to remember that is to just subtract 8 hours from your time, then remember that is the next day here. For instance, 10 PM Saturday on the west coast is 2 PM Sunday here. Does that make a lot of sense? I get confused, too. Anyway, your Skype call came in at 4:06 AM Sunday, so applying my time shift machine, I would say that you made the call at a few minutes after noon on Saturday if you are on the west coast. If you are on the east coast, you made the call at about 4:06 PM. Am I close to being right?
