Use one speaker of a cheap headphone set. Remove the cushion from one side and put it on your head so that the speaker is near your ear.

Hi all, just started using my BrailleNote GPS unit. For mobility safety reasons I don't want to use headphones or an earphone. Does anyone use or know of a tiny speaker that could clip onto the carry strap next to the GPS receiver; ... on the shoulder and close to one's ear?

Thanks
