Hi,

If the manuals and all are on the compact flash card and you wish to
store them elsewhere, you could certainly free up space on the cf card
by deleting
them from there afterwards.

Since I don't know what was placed on your cf card before it shipped to
you, it's hard to suggest what to delete, but if you try copying from
the cd to the cf
card and are told the files already exist and do you want to replace
them or not, you probably need to check the file creation dates to see
which set of files
are older.

As for getting maps onto the cf card, I thought the maps for your area
were put onto the cf card before shipping, but maybe not. If not, you
need to copy
them from the cd to the card.

Theoretically, activesync could probably be used for this but if it
works it will take a very very very long time and probably will choke
somewhere along the
way.

If you have access to a card reader, I strongly recommend using the
card reader to copy directly from the cd to the card. The maps are very
large,
depending on what state or states you want to copy of course.

If your pc or laptop doesn't have a cf slot but only a pcmcia slot, try
going to radio shack and getting a cf to pcmcia adapter. They cost
somewhere around
$11 I believe.

Even copying maps to the cf card using a pc can take several minutes,
but it's more reliable than trying to use activesync.

Hi,
Okay, good news for me. GPS is now installed! Okay thanks and the reset
worked. Now for the questions. 1. If I move the manuals and the MP3
tutorial to the Microdrive or flash disk and delete the QT manuals and
the MP3 file, will that free up space on the compactflash card? 2. The
POI CD that came with the GPS, do I need to install it in the POI
folder? The CD that says V 3.1. There are already POI's in the POI
folder and I just didn't want to reinstall something. 4. What's the best
way to get maps and POI's on the compactflash card from the CD? Will
active sink work? 5. Where do I put my own created POI's in the
compactflash card? Okay, guess that's it for now. Off to read manuals.
Thanks for the patients and help.
