[gps-talkusers] BrailleNote's shoulder strap and good clothes

Hi, all.  I tried to send this earlier, but used the wrong nickname for one 
of the lists, and haven't seen it come through to either, so am resending 
to both.  (I wonder what poor person might have gotten my message and 
wondered what in the world I was talking about?  <shuddering and 
blushing>)  Anyway, I'm trying again.  <smile>

Hi, all.  I'm posting to both the BrailleNote and GPS lists, since I'm sure 
most of us at one time or another wear our BrailleNotes so we can either 
read or write while standing, or use our GPS systems while walking.

I'm involved in Sacramento's annual BEST OF BROADWAY production, and since 
what I do is sing in the pit (a little booth with microphones, where we're 
allowed to use words and music), I have the words to the songs on my 
BrailleNote, which I wear while singing so I can read the words.  We're 
only visible from the chest up, or maybe from the chin up, so it doesn't 
look weird.  Anyway, I've been wearing a nice white blouse, but at the end 
of this weekend's shows, after washing the blouse, I asked my husband to 
look at it to make sure it looked okay.  Apparently, because of the type of 
material it is, the BrailleNote strap had caused little snags on the 
shoulder, especially where the rubber thing goes.  We bought a little 
seatbelt pad thing that's sold to make seatbelts more comfortable, and I 
velcroed it to the BrailleNote's strap around the rubber thing.  It feels 
more comfortable, and we're hoping that will keep me from snagging the new 
white shirt I bought.

I'm just wondering if anyone else who loves to carry their BrailleNotes 
with them and occasionally has to do so while wearing nice shirts, has had 
to deal with a situation like this.  If so, how did you handle it?  I 
suppose I could just Braille the words to the songs and put them in a 
binder, but after the next two weekends of shows, I won't need them, and it 
seems so much easier to just delete files and folders rather than to 
Braille all kinds of stuff only to turn around and through the papers away.

So I'll be interested to hear if this has ever been an issue for any of 
you, and how you handled it.
